5593 - Photography exhibition
Sunday, April 29th, 2007This exhibition sees 15 emerging photographic artists present their new work. The show has no fixed theme, allowing for greater diversity and presenting the audience with a variety of subject matter. The work will be displayed using a wide range of presentation styles in the raw space that is The Back Loft at La Cathedral Studios. The Gallery of Photography, Dublin, is involved in this show. After the show has opened, The Gallery of Photography will further curate 5593 into an online exhibition, hosted on www.galleryofphotography.ie

Discussion on “Trends in Contemporary Photography Publishing”
Friday, April 27th, 2007Mark Schaden from Schaden books, will head the discussion next Thursday 3rd of May on “Trends in Contemporary Photography Publishing” at the Gallery of Photography (Meeting House Square, Dublin). The panel includes Mark Curran (photographer), David Farrell (artist) and Martin McCabe (lecturer in the DIT School of Media and curator).

Inmigrant Madrid
Thursday, April 26th, 2007Inmigrant Madrid. Six visions on Madrid’s inmigration.
Curated by the photographers Chema Conesa and Diana Saldaña, offers about 200 photographs about inmigration, integration and individuality agaisnt the generalisations. Amongst other photographers Inmigrant Madrid shows the work of Carl de Keyzer, Donovan Wylie, Matías Costa, Susan Meiselas, Cristina García Rodero and Carlos Sanva. An exhibition organised by Madrid City Council, in colaboration with Magnum Photos. Opens the 25th of April, and will run until the 27th of May in the Gallery at Canal de Isabel II.

Portent is a group show of photographic works, including both still image and time-based media.
Portent – an indication of the future – is an exhibition of work by third-year students on the B.A. Photography course at Dublin Institute of Technology, Temple Bar. The work is a culmination of several months’ work in genres such as portraiture, documentary, environment and constructed narrative.
